About Coach Campbell

Coach Campbell's passion for cricket started at a very young age when he was discovered by Zimbabwe cricket captain, Alistair Campbell, who took him under his wing and laid the foundation for his sporting career.

During his time at SACS in Cape Town, Coach Campbell played for the 1st XI from 2015-2017 and embraced a wealth of success.

In 2016, he played a huge role in helping SACS reach the top 3 cricketing schools in the country, being awarded batsman of the year. He was then invited to attend Western Province U17 trials.

Coach Campbell started playing cricket for Maritzburg Cricket Club(MCC), in 2019. He played a vital role in the club's success in the Inland Premier League helping them win numerous trophies.

During his time in Pietermaritzburg, he coached at Cordwalles Preparatory School from 2019 to 2021. The U11B cricket team he coached had an unbeaten 2019 year and continued that success.

While at Cordwalles Preparatory School, he also set up private cricket coaching with the students there, seeing great improvements in their cricketing ability within a month.

Coach Campbell has now been living in Johannesburg since September 2022 and soon after joined the Old Lions 1st XI. He made a name for himself by scoring a double century on debut for the club and has since scored another 4 hundred, 6 fifties, and taken a 6-wicket haul including a hattrick. He was awarded as the club's Batsman of the 2022-2023 season along with 4 other awards. As well as being a player, Coach Campbell also coaches the Old Lion's U9 and U11 cricket teams and is now looking to take his coaching to the next level.

Coach Campbell enrolled in a year at Quest Africa, while challenging, taught him the skills of teamwork, and leadership, amongst other moral values which have laid an excellent foundation for building sporting leadership in his students.

He has an unmatched passion for cricket, and always will. This is shown by the way he plays and coaches.
